About The Position

The Production Manager serves as Supernal’s production integration authority, ensuring manufacturing systems, production controls, and configuration-managed build processes align with 14 CFR Part 21 requirements and Production Certificate (PC) expectations. This role oversees production governance, build release logic, engineering change incorporation, and design-to-production interfaces to maintain conformity to approved design data, Type Design integrity, and airworthiness compliance. The position ensures DFM considerations, tooling qualification, inspection controls, and rate readiness planning support disciplined and certifiable manufacturing execution. In addition, the role supports long-term production approval readiness by internalizing manufacturing frameworks, identifying systemic production risks, and ensuring scalable, regulatory-compliant production processes. Job Level: The role is posted at a Level 4; however, the role will be compensated commensurate with experience. Location: International Expat

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, or related engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aerospace manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting production systems operating under 14 CFR Part 21 or other certification-driven regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in production system development, manufacturing process control, or production ramp-up activities.
  • Experience with configuration-controlled production environments, including incorporation of approved design data into manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working across engineering, quality and manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace production systems within regulated environments.
  • Ability to control configuration-managed production and ensure conformity to design data.
  • Capability to evaluate manufacturing plans, engineering changes, and DFM considerations from a production readiness perspective.
  • Understanding of serial number applicability control and disciplined implementation of engineering changes into active production builds.
  • Ability to identify production system risks impacting regulatory compliance or rate readiness.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination capability across engineering, quality, and manufacturing organizations.
  • High attention to detail and disciplined production control mindset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with conformity determination, airworthiness release processes, or Production Certificate (PC) environments is preferred.
  • advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess production system and manufacturing controls to ensure alignment with 14 CFR Part 21 requirements and Production Certificate (PC) expectations.
  • Lead the structured transfer and internalization of manufacturing governance frameworks, including production planning, configuration control, and change management processes.
  • Develop and maintain a working-level understanding of production flow, station architecture, rate planning, and line balancing methodologies.
  • Review manufacturing plans, build sequences, work instructions, tooling concepts, and process specifications to ensure conformity to design data and production traceability.
  • Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) considerations and engineering change incorporation processes support production conformity and rate readiness objectives.
  • Ensure build release logic, production configuration management, and design-to-production interfaces maintain Type Design integrity and airworthiness compliance.
  • Evaluate integration of in-process inspection, nonconformance handling, and production acceptance controls within manufacturing operations.
  • Assess tooling qualification, equipment validation, and production system readiness in support of production approval and rate readiness objectives.
  • Support development of Supernal internal production strategies, including production system architecture, configuration control, and certification-driven production preparation.
  • Monitor interfaces between engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing organizations to ensure conformity determination and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify systemic production risks, manufacturing control gaps, and rate readiness deficiencies impacting production approval objectives.
  • Escalate material production nonconformances or systemic manufacturing risks affecting regulatory compliance or airworthiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
