About The Position

Summary of Position: The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Quality function, focusing on driving operational performance, ensuring product conformity, and improving customer outcomes. This role is accountable for: Ensuring the Quality Management System meets regulatory, industry, and customer requirements Driving reduction in Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), including scrap, rework, escapes, and warranty Leading root cause and corrective action (RCCA) across internal operations and the supply chain Acting as the primary interface with customers on quality matters and ensuring timely resolution of issues The Quality Manager is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for building a high-performance Quality organization and working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 8–15 years of experience in aerospace or related manufacturing environment
  • Prior leadership experience in Quality or Engineering roles
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace standards, including AS9100 and FAA requirements
  • Proven experience in: Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), Supplier Quality Management, and Audit leadership (AS9100, FAA, or customer audits)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and validation/verification activities
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and measurable business results
  • Strong communication and leadership skills required
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. US Cargo Systems will require proof of status before employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electromechanical systems or aerospace components preferred
  • Six Sigma or Lean experience with demonstrated application preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Company’s representative for all customer quality matters, including issue resolution and audit support
  • Provide input to the management team to prioritize quality issues based on business impact and risk
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the Quality function to ensure product compliance and operational performance
  • Develop and implement a structured Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) model and drive continuous reduction
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) for internal and external quality issues
  • Drive hands-on problem solving across production, engineering, and supply chain
  • Develop and monitor quality performance metrics aligned with business priorities (CoPQ, FPY, escapes, supplier performance)
  • Ensure all products received and shipped meet technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • Develop and analyze data to assess quality performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Plan and organize quality-related training, including RCCA, inspection methods, and quality standards
  • Ensure project and product documentation meets contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Audit and monitor compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards
  • Drive a culture of ownership, urgency, and accountability within the Quality organization
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • Lead supplier quality performance, including audits, performance monitoring, and corrective actions
  • Partner with Supply Chain to drive supplier accountability and improvement
  • Maintain audit readiness at all times for AS9100, FAA, and customer audits
  • Ensure Quality systems enable execution and efficiency—not bureaucracy
  • Manage and develop Quality team members, including engineers, specialists, and inspectors
  • Support budgeting and tracking of quality-related activities with focus on cost and performance impact
  • Conduct and monitor quality training (GD&T, FOD, ESD, materials handling, assembly practices)
  • All other duties as assigned
