About The Position

Aery is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our team. Responsibilities will include quality training, performing internal audits, maintaining and updating quality certifications, managing corrective action activities, developing and communicating quality goals, gathering and analyzing performance metrics, managing the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS), and acting as the company’s quality management representative with customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory agencies. What You Will Be Doing Manage quality metrics, trends and activities to improve cost, quality, and schedule performance. Implement a quality culture of root cause analysis and corrective action to prevent future escapes and continuously improve quality. Develop quality plans by conducting analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits; monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; and monitoring inventory quality. Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including corrective actions, failed processes, recalls, return merchandise and re-validations. Conduct periodic reviews of manufacturing and quality systems and create improvement cycles based on performance results. Interface with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing/operations to ensure customer requirements and specifications are flowed down to products and services. Support the analysis of supplier performance metrics to recommend supplier approval/selection and sourcing decisions. Support the company quality performance rating process to continually improve customer satisfaction. Support manufacturing and quality project planning and scheduling to assure seamless execution and delivery of products and services. Support procedure development, quality task sequences, planning and workflow for fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and shipping/receiving. Responsible for first article inspections, conformities and writing / issuing 8130-9s in cooperation with the Engineering and Certification Departments at Aery. Perform Certification Conformity inspection of aircraft materials, parts, assemblies, subassemblies, and installations as requested by FAA Engineering. Assist in the establishment, documentation, implementation, and administration of Quality Assurance procedures appropriate to the regulatory requirements mandated by the FAA. Gain and maintain an understanding of all current regulatory requirements pertaining to the quality control of aerospace modifications and parts/components. Coordinate with all organizations (i.e. Engineering, Material Procurement, Material Logistics, etc.) to ensure that all processes (which may include: certification, configuration control, document control, purchase order management, material/receiving control, etc.) are fully compliant, auditable and meet/exceed all regulatory and Company requirements. Ensure that inspections are properly performed on all incoming and outgoing material and that appropriate paperwork is properly executed. Ensure that all incoming materials, parts, assemblies conform to the appropriate approved data. Develop, in conjunction with Material Procurement and Engineering, a Supplier Quality Program and Vendor Approval Process that establishes quality levels and defines the quality reporting from the vendor to guarantee compliance Conduct quality audits of vendor facilities to ensure the integrity of their systems/processes and conduct in-process inspection when required. Willingness to travel Conduct internal quality audits Monitor and control non-conforming material including containment of quality escapes, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions as required Monitor and report on quality related metrics including but not limited to supplier quality performance, supplier corrective action compliance, and production quality escapes to meet organizational goals Prepare and present Quality Assurance organizational status reports to management

Requirements

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of practical aviation experience in an aviation maintenance or repair organization, with three (3) years of inspection experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Relevant military experience will be considered.
  • Airframe & Powerplant certificate required, Inspector Authorization preferred.
  • Experience drafting and executing FAA Form 337’s.
  • Maintains the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance, and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the program / product lifecycle in the areas of new business pursuit, design, supply chain management, receiving operations, inventory control, production control, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, product sell off, and/or shipping and product support as they apply to quality.
  • Audit experience, particularly with ISO 9001 / AS9100D Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to self-manage, set priorities, demonstrate follow-through, and effectively communicate at all levels of an organization.
  • Customer focused and be a strategic thinker. Ability to lead change and have strong consultative/influencing skills.
  • Possess broad knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 21, 25, 43, 65, 91, 135 and 145.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading teams, developing strong partnerships with businesses, and developing people.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and costs.
  • Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to apply logic and reason in solving practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Domestic and international travel estimated to be as high as 10% of the time.
  • Drug Free Workplace Drug Testing Program participation required.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English language communication and comprehension.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Airframe & Powerplant certificate required, Inspector Authorization preferred.
  • Prefer knowledge of FAA conformity and STC process.
  • Learjet and/or Gulfstream GIV experience a plus.
