About The Position

The Quality Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS). This position oversees the entire quality department, ensuring the consistent quality of all products and processes meets and exceeds customer specifications and regulatory compliance standards. The Manager mentors and develops the Quality Supervisor team, drives strategic continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the primary internal and external representative for all quality matters. This role ensures the company maintains a robust culture of quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a closely related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in a quality assurance role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial or senior supervisory capacity, including direct responsibility for multiple shifts or departmental budget/strategy.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing and implementing a Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Expert knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), principles, tools, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate technical teams across different shifts and functional areas.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex quality data to executive leadership and external customers.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, data-driven decision-making, and utilizing ERP/MES systems for quality tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the organization's overall Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with ISO standards and industry best practices.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key quality metrics (KPIs) across all shifts and production lines.
  • Lead the selection, training, and performance management of Quality Supervisors, fostering a strong, cohesive, and technically proficient quality team.
  • Direct and oversee internal and external audit programs, including pre-audit preparation and managing third-party auditors (e.g., ISO, customer audits).
  • Lead the investigation and disposition process for non-conforming materials (NCMs), driving prompt and effective resolution.
  • Oversee the implementation of robust inspection and testing processes, ensuring all equipment calibration standards are met company-wide (integrating shift-specific responsibilities into a centralized system).
  • Serve as the primary driver for strategic continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Lead complex Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for major quality deviations or persistent issues, developing and validating corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Develop and manage the annual Quality Improvement Plan, ensuring all quality objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key customer quality representatives, leading formal quality reviews, managing critical feedback, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently integrated into production.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), corporate quality policy, and applicable federal, state, and international regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive quality documentation and record retention systems to support full traceability and compliance audits.
