Job Responsibilities: PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under the direction of the general manager, the quality manager manages the company’s quality department and quality system to ensure only quality products are shipped to customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret internal procedures, documents and processes, internal and customer requirements, flow diagrams, and business correspondences.
  • Ability to develop processes for effective operation.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Must have good organizational and managerial skills to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/Supervise all personnel and aspects of the Quality Department
  • Develop a Quality Assurance/Control program, to comply with all customer requirements.
  • Prepare and update Quality system procedures/policies as required.
  • Develop/approve gauging for new programs or gage revisions to existing programs.
  • Customer and/or supplier liaison for quality problems/concerns.
  • Assist with sample submissions.
  • Develop/coordinate Customer quality systems within this company.
  • Encourage development and implementation of continuous improvement within the company.
  • Communicates customer requirements to necessary personnel.
  • Serve as “Management Representative” as required by AIAG TS16949.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Responsible for managing salaried engineers, quality technicians, and all quality support personnel.
  • Responsible for coordination and preparation of Control Plans, and inspection instructions/check sheets as required.
  • Follows and supports Magna Structures Tennessee LLC. and Magna’s operating principles, including: Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all associates equally, fairly and with dignity and respect. Open Door Policy – Solves issues with two-way, open, and friendly communication. 5S – Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy “Everything has a place.
