About The Position

The Quality Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations and will be responsible for activities involved in developing, maintaining, and improving quality programs, processes, and procedures that ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include managing internal and external audits, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) program, calibration program, product traceability, and document control. They are responsible for managing the internal quality lab, scheduling testing activities for Revision’s products, RD&E projects, and external customers. This position will ensure correct prioritization of the workload, testing timelines are met and results are well documented. They are responsible for managing a team consisting of analysts and technicians. The Quality Manager will interact with all departments and levels of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, engineering field preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a quality management role.
  • Experience managing both QA and QC functions.
  • Understanding of ISO-9000 required.
  • Auditor training and experience required - lead auditor training and experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with outside regulatory agencies.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Meticulous, detail oriented, and quality conscious.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a shifting landscape.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
  • Ability to utilize standard measuring devices for quality inspections required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a can-do, customer-centric attitude is required.
  • U.S. Government authorization required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ISO-07025 preferred.
  • Experience with ballistic and/or optical testing equipment preferred.
  • Lean / Six Sigma training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain/improve the ISO 9001 QMS through audits, corrective actions, & training.
  • Oversee the Material Review Board process.
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive action processes across all departments of the business.
  • Evaluates quality findings and coordinates process improvement strategies with leadership.
  • Lead assessor for both internal and external audits of the QMS in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001.
  • Develop and maintain internal audit schedule.
  • Maintain detailed records of all internal and external audits.
  • Train employees in auditing practices.
  • Manage the internal audit system through scheduling of audits, maintenance of audit files and scheduling audits with third party auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts as both a leader and team member.
  • Primary contact for customer onsite product inspections.
  • Maintain the corrective action system for internal CAR's, customer complaints, and supplier corrective actions.
  • Plans and organizes calibration and other external testing including evaluation and documentation/reporting of the results.
  • Facilitates coordination and administration of calibration recall system.
  • Overall management of the documentation control system.
  • Responsible for maintenance and improvement of document control systems.
  • Assist documentation creators in the development and implementation of new procedures and work instructions.
  • Manage laboratory workload for on-time completion of requested testing.
  • Maintains Revision’s specialized test equipment; provides recommendations on new testing technologies and processes.
  • Develop and execute detailed test protocols and prepare test reports; evaluate results of product tests and inspections for compliance.
  • Evaluate passing product for aberrations or trends that may lead to failure in the future and initiate preventive actions as needed.
  • Assist in the development of new test protocols for new products.
  • Interface with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and RD&E functions regularly to ensure testing requirements and priorities are understood.
  • Assist Marketing and Sales to determine compliance with new standards and define customer requirements for certification.
  • Review customer requirements and determine applicable standards.
  • Review 3rd Party Testing Labs for various certifications and ensure all certifications for specific products are obtained.
  • Provide guidance to lab customers regarding appropriate testing; assist in interpretation of testing results; and make suggestions to improve product performance as applicable.
  • Ensure the lab is 5S’d, well maintained, and embodies a world-class facility.
  • Develop first-rate knowledge of all standards and specifications which relate to our products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
