About The Position

Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for the effectiveness of the quality systems, implementation of effective inspection methodologies and developing the resources required to meet automotive quality systems standards and customer quality expectations. This position oversees the Quality staff, QMS and Supplier Quality activities as a member of the TAPS leadership team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5 years of managerial/leadership experience in a manufacturing quality organization.
  • Experience in Automotive and/or Aerospace Quality Management Systems such as AS9100, IATF 16949 or ISO 13100 including developing, improving and maturing quality processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, ERP software (Epicor preferred), and Minitab.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and use of Root Cause Analysis tools such as 5 why, Fishbone, 8D etc.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and manufacturing drawings and basic interpretation Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills; attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 25 lbs. or more and standing for extended periods of time.

  • Leading the TAPS Quality organization, including Quality Engineering and Lab Inspection staff, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the team is equipped to meet quality objectives.
  • Managing the TAPS quality system to maintain IATF16949 certification.
  • Managing the TAPS QMS, to include; Quality personnel, non-conformances, customer and process control documents, quality system records, internal/compliance audits, corrective actions and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Developing effective relationships with customer contacts/systems that provide clear understanding of requirements, expectations, and assist in resolving issues and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Overseeing supplier activities that sustain effective product flow, implement process improvements and maintain supplier audit oversight and approvals as required.
  • Establishing metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of quality initiatives. Sharing TAPS quality system performance with the Director of Quality and TAPS leadership team on a monthly basis.
  • Utilizing experience with change management methodologies to effectively communicate and manage changes to quality processes and systems.
  • Promoting and assisting in development of appropriate work instructions and procedures.
  • Overseeing effective performance and submission of FAI’s, and PPAP’s in line with customer system requirements.
  • Overseeing management of quality system training, including employee training plans and records.
  • Overseeing the implementation and use of SPC to provide timely feedback on process capability.
  • Performing other duties as necessary.
