About The Position

Develops, implements, and coordinates quality assurance program in order to ensure that customers' needs are met or exceeded. Ensures that quality systems are both followed and effective. Provides technical support for the other groups and provides customer support at a variety of levels.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or comparable technical degree.
5 years of manufacturing experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
AS9100 (given), AS9102 (FAI), AS9145 (APQP). Not just knowledge, but the application of each.
Must have a metalworking background, preferably "hot metals".
Must be hands-on. Cannot be remotely successful in this role, sitting in the office all day.
Can speak and communicate effectively to technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
Can read and write to effectively communicate information and technical concepts, and able to produce effective written documentation.
Has the ability to present information effectively as well as respond to questions from management groups and customers.
Can correctly interpret documents such as written instructions, spreadsheets, drawings, lists and manuals.
Ability to apply advanced statistical analysis methods and mathematical analysis including exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations . Ability to apply mathematical analysis to a broad range of industry areas including inventory, sales, manufacturing processes, maintenance, and quality.
Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
Maintains knowledge of equipment and manufacturing technology changes
Utilization of Lean Manufacturing techniques
Working knowledge of ISO 9002/AS9100
Working knowledge of Nadcap MTL requirements.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a working knowledge of: Windows operating systems & programs and Microsoft Office Suite

Nadcap Material Testing requirements and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Champion health and safety initiatives within the quality functions to ensure employee safety.
Provide expectations, accountability and direction to direct reports, and ensure all quality personnel are trained in and consistently execute policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Design and implement a process control plan to ensure customer satisfaction and to minimize the total cost of quality.
Lead the policy deployment process within the quality assurance function.
Own, manage, and provide oversight to the quality management system.
Manage customer relationships relative to customer needs, concerns, dissatisfactions, audits, inspections, etc.
Be a productive member of the market and management teams of the business.
Support an operating culture that promotes involvement, communication, expectations and accountability, and a passion for excellence.
Lead problem solving teams and kaizen events in order to improve operating performance.
Acts as AS9100 Management Representative

Has the authority to stop process to correct quality, safety or environmental problems, and to promptly notify Supervisory personnel when processes are noncompliant
