About The Position

An incumbent in this classification partners to lead the execution and development of the organization’s Strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with the plant leadership team and serves as the Management representative for the Quality Management System. This incumbent will develop and coordinate the IATF Systems withing the facility considering all cross functional, interdepartmental contributions as well as customer identified Quality System requirements. The Role: The following duties are typical for this role however, any one position may not include all duties listed, nor do the examples cover all duties which may be performed: Develops and maintains the IATF System for Full System Processes, Product, and Layered Audit Processing Auditing Provides training to the IATF Auditing Team Assists in the achievement and maintenance of the IATF Certification, customer requalification’s and periodic recertification Drives execution of quality systems in partnership with plant management Develops and maintains Quality Procedures and Processes in accordance with the required standards Manages document control system Drives the Internal Audit system Inspects the product and/or audits processes as needed. Prepares and analyzes internal quality reports for management staff review. Works with engineering groups to develop measuring equipment standards and techniques for new or unusual precision mechanical parts and assemblies. Manages completion of regular product and poka-yoke audits throughout the plant. Maintains action plan for audit findings and customer scorecard improvements Responsible for the organization and participation in external audits conducted at the location with the defined Registrar/Certification Body  Includes the review, follow up and closure confirmation of corrective actions associated with documented observations or non-conformances Includes all other duties assigned by Quality Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field preferred
  • 5 years’ quality experience in an automotive just-in-time facility
  • Knowledge of terminology pertaining to quality assurance as needed to respond to questions and provide oversight.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of precision tooling, and working knowledge of metrology
  • Knowledge of various functions of an automotive plant such as maintenance, quality, production control, operations, and materials as needed to determine how they are interrelated and oversee employees in the quality department.
  • Knowledge of strategies such as product lifecycle management (PLM), just-in-time, and self-directed teams as needed to effectively implement these strategies.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service to include customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to analyze problems to include asking the appropriate questions and gathering additional information to identify causes of and solutions to problems.
  • Ability to recognize relationships between facts, information, or situations as needed to integrate information from various sources.
  • Physical Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Physical Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Physical Ability to concentrate on a given tasks and not be distracted.
  • Physical Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Physical Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
  • Physical Ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns.
  • Physical Ability to identify or detect a known pattern (a figure, object, word, or sound) that is hidden in other distracting material.
  • Physical Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Certified Lead Auditor for IAFT 16949
  • Possess strong knowledge of IATF quality management system and quality control techniques.
  • Possess application knowledge of FMEA, SPC, TQM, etc. methodology.
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
