Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or certification in a biology-related field preferred.
  • Prior food lab experience or coursework in microbiology, biology, or related fields.
  • Strong working knowledge of aseptic systems, processes, and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Word and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor packaging quality to maximize product integrity.
  • Perform quality tests, including pH checks, solids analysis, CIP testing, ATP, allergen, micro, and visual inspections.
  • Conduct package teardowns and investigate product spoilage issues.
  • Calibrate and operate lab testing equipment accurately.
  • Maintain retention samples and manage lab inventory levels.
  • Accurately complete and maintain quality documentation.
  • Communicate lab results with production operators and supervisors.
  • Support plant safety initiatives, including inspections, meetings, and hazard reporting.
  • Promote teamwork and assist in training new team members as needed.
