About The Position

Lab Systems Coordinator Huntsman is seeking a Lab Systems Coordinator supporting the Advanced Materials (HAM) Division located in McIntosh, Alabama. This position will report to the Lab Manager. Job Scope The Lab Systems Coordinator is a critical technical and administrative member of the McIntosh laboratory leadership structure. This role serves as the technical and operational right hand to the Lab Manager, ensuring laboratory continuity, systems integrity, and strong quality performance. The position supports a zero‑defect culture through robust metrics, equipment reliability, compliance with quality standards, and hands‑on analytical laboratory support. In summary, as the Lab Systems Coordinator, you will: Act as the primary technical delegate and point of coverage for the Lab Manager during absences. Own and maintain laboratory KPIs and performance metrics, including physical and digital visual management boards. Manage and sustain SPC/SQC programs to ensure testing consistency and material statistical equivalency. Coordinate and maintain the master calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) schedule for all analytical instrumentation. Serve as the responsible party for contractor variance documentation related to calibration and maintenance activities. Manage procurement of laboratory chemicals, reagents, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted testing operations. Support and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS), including drafting and updating SOPs and analytical methods. Provide technical review and decision support for material release and retest activities. Deliver hands‑on analytical coverage and troubleshooting for LC and GC laboratory operations. Support SAP transactions, data transfers, and New Product Introduction (NPI) workflows. Monitor laboratory expenses related to supplies and third-party services. Ensure laboratory compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements. Promote continuous improvement, data integrity, and a strong quality culture across the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience supporting analytical testing and laboratory operations.
  • Hands‑on experience with GC and LC analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience supporting laboratory quality systems, calibration programs, and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple technical and administrative tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and scheduling discipline.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the absence of direct supervision.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Proficiency with SAP, LabWorks, or other Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
