Quality Intern – Colorado Springs, CO The intern(s) will be responsible for a specific project, and/or plant quality at the Security facility. They will work closely with operations, process engineering, design engineering, test engineering, materials as well as external vendors and corporate supplier quality engineering. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

Requirements

  • Working towards BS/BA degree in engineering related degree/certification
  • General capability with MS suite such as Excel, Word, Power Point & Power BI a plus.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative through extracurricular activities, school projects, or work experience.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and eager to learn new skills.
  • Strong time management and creative problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of print reading and basic GD&T principles
  • Ability to effectively make recommendations with limited time and information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across internal materials departments.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Comfortable leading discussion around data analyzed
  • Data analysis using MS Excel and/or other tools as provided.

Responsibilities

  • Team with Operation Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and EH&S to support plant relay out activities.
  • Work with Process Engineering and Operations to root cause and corrective action production line quality issues.
  • Collaborate with metrology team to evaluate measurement strategies using Zeiss CMM, OGP SmartScopes and open setups and hand tools.
  • Other projects as assigned.
  • Participate in the APQP process including pFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP processes to support New Products.
