What We're Looking For: The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for validating and controlling product quality and related documentation throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures that products meet Smardt Quality Standards, regulatory codes, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. The Quality Control Inspector performs in-process, receiving, and final inspections, identifies non-conformances, and collaborates cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives, audit activities, and quality documentation to maintain and improve manufacturing quality performance. This hire will be required to travel to Montreal, Canada for approximately 4 weeks of training, provided by Smardt. What You'll Do: Inspection and Quality Verification Perform in-process inspections to verify product conformance through visual inspections, dimensional checks, and measurement tests. Conduct receiving inspections of raw materials and components to ensure compliance with specifications and purchase requirements. Perform final inspections of completed assemblies and products prior to shipment. Verify that products comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Review work orders, drawings, and inspection documentation for completeness and accuracy. Non-Conformance Management Identify, document, and track non-conformances and quality deviations. Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to investigate and resolve quality issues. Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes (RCA / CAPA) to prevent recurrence. Assist in evaluating rework, repair, and disposition of non-conforming materials. Quality Documentation and Records Maintain and organize inspection records, quality reports, and test documentation. Ensure proper completion of quality documentation for projects, inspections, and corrective actions. Support traceability and documentation requirements in accordance with quality management system standards. Equipment and Testing Maintain inspection and test equipment to ensure tools are accurate, calibrated, and compliant with quality procedures. Assist in verifying measurement systems and inspection tools used during manufacturing. Audits and Continuous Improvement Support internal and external ISO quality audits, including preparation of documentation and inspection records. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce defects. Provide feedback to production teams to improve product quality, process consistency, and manufacturing efficiency. Collaboration Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns to production supervisors and quality leadership. Provide guidance to production personnel regarding quality requirements and inspection standards. Assist with training or guidance related to quality procedures and inspection practices.
