About The Position

The Quality Inspector position will support inspection of precision optical assemblies and components in a cleanroom environment. The employee will regularly interface with Department Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineering, and Shipping to ensure on-time shipment of product and efficient identification and escalation of defects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED. AAS or AS preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a quality position or related field.
  • Experience with optical inspection and handling strongly preferred.
  • Extremely detail-orientated with the ability to notice small errors, including in data review.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints.
  • Comfortability using a computer and Microsoft office products.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • The right candidate will be highly motivated and have the ability to take initiative with little supervision.
  • The right candidate will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including low-light.

Responsibilities

  • Perform In-Process and Final Inspection of optical and opto-electronic assembly components, products and processes.
  • Conduct visual inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Document inspection results accurately through data collection, logging, and reporting.
  • Communicate non-conforming or borderline conditions to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Review material certifications and test reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with purchasing and design requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out additional quality-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
