Summit Products is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team in Altoona, Iowa. Position Summary The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting parts, materials, finished products, and in-process work to verify compliance with specifications and company requirements. This position works closely with production and leadership to identify defects, document findings, and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Ability to read drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use measuring and inspection tools accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in metal fabrication, powder coating, plastics, or assembly environments.
- Familiarity with quality systems, inspection documentation, and nonconformance reporting.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods for quality and conformance.
- Use measuring tools and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other testing devices.
- Review product specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
- Document inspection results and report nonconforming material.
- Communicate quality issues to production and supervision in a timely manner.
- Support corrective action and process improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and follow company quality procedures.
- Assist with other quality-related duties as assigned.
