About The Position

McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, with locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, have been in continuous operations since 1869. McConway & Torley is seeking Quality Inspectors to perform basic quality control testing and inspection of standard parts, units, equipment, or material to ensure conformance with standards and determine if products meet all requirements.

Requirements

Must be a detail oriented individual
Must be able to double check your own findings in the event of mismatched information collected
Must have strong interpersonal skills including being capable of working with others in the resolution of problems and getting the job done.

Nice To Haves

Previous quality inspection experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Inspect finished parts at the end of a production line for adherence to quality standards
Understand how to link written standards to physical parts
Collect data each shift to report defect types and quantities
Use electronic equipment to log information retrieved from physical parts
Tag products that are determined to be acceptable with the corresponding information
Communicate with production employees the findings and how to properly repair defects
Operate hoists and equipment as needed by work cell
