Job Description Teledyne Relays (a business unit of Teledyne Defense Electronics, LLC) is a manufacturer of Electromechanical Relays, Solid State Relays, Power Controllers, RF COAX Switches and RF Matrix switching systems. The primary manufacturing facilities are located in the United States. We are a vertically orientated manufacturing and design company with major operations in Southern California. This is a full-time on-site Quality Inspector role located in Hawthorne, CA. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for conducting quality control and assurance checks, managing quality processes, performing inspections, and utilizing analytical skills to ensure product integrity.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills to make daily data entries.

  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate understanding of GD&T.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools.
  • Experience in inspection or testing of electrical, electromechanical or mechanical product.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Completing first article inspections (FAIs) per AS9102.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to create manual approaches to measuring.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure piece parts and products meet drawing requirements
  • Utilizing work instructions to collect data, Complete inspection reports, history logs, rejection reports and associated paperwork
  • Receiving, In-process & Final inspections for compliance to drawing/ requirements.
  • Must have good eye-hand coordination/dexterity to assemble small parts (plug relays into equipment for testing).
  • Must be able to work with small parts, work well with a microscope and be able to use hand tools (tweezers, pin vise) and equipment as instructed.
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills to keep Lead/Supervisor informed of progress or issues, and for documentation.
