Harter Aerospace, an FAA-certified Part 145 repair station and proud subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is looking for an experienced aviation professional—ideally a seasoned A&P mechanic ready for a smoother, indoor transition—to join our Quality team. This role lets you apply your deep aircraft knowledge in a clean, climate-controlled office and inspection environment, focusing on documentation review, compliance verification, and final approvals rather than heavy physical labor. Why This Role Fits Experienced Mechanics After years in hangars, on the line, or turning wrenches outdoors, many skilled mechanics seek a position that values their expertise while offering a consistent, seated schedule in a modern facility. Here, you'll use your background to ensure airworthiness through detailed reviews, precise inspections, and Return-to-Service certifications—contributing to safety without the physical demands of traditional maintenance. Company Overview Based in Tempe, Arizona, Harter Aerospace specializes in the inspection, testing, repair, and overhaul of commercial aircraft accessories and components (6000+ part numbers). With certifications from FAA, EASA, CAAC, JCAB, and more, we deliver OEM-compatible quality, fast turn-times, and outstanding service in a supportive, team-oriented setting. Qualifications Role Summary Primarily desk-based with light bench inspections: Review work orders and records, perform visual and dimensional checks on components, verify compliance with regulations and technical data, and issue Return-to-Service approvals. All work occurs indoors in our state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility—no heavy lifting, no outdoor exposure, no weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities Review customer work orders, maintenance records, and technical documentation (manuals, drawings, service bulletins) for accuracy and regulatory compliance Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of aircraft parts at dedicated stations (using precision tools like calipers, micrometers—no strenuous disassembly) Perform incoming, in-process, hidden damage, and final inspections per FAA/EASA standards Issue Return-to-Service approvals and certifications based on your aviation expertise Document findings, segregate non-conformances, and collaborate with teams to resolve issues efficiently Support continuous improvement with your practical, real-world insights
