Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
  • Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments such as functional gages, calipers, micrometers, depth gages
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70lbs
  • Ability to do other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and ability to read blueprints, routings, and measuring equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in any field
  • Experience operating and programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Knowledge of metallurgical properties or related course work

Responsibilities

  • Audit incoming materials, work in progress, and finished parts for adherence to blueprint specifications using precision measuring equipment such as gages, calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Segregate non-conforming material and pieces, providing reasons for rejection
  • Perform dimensional layouts on sample components for approval of supplier tooling, document all findings, and assist with interpretation as required
  • Provide feedback on what is required to bring rejected parts within specifications to production team members
  • Participate in 5S and Lean activities
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Materials team, and Production team to resolve quality issues
