About The Position

The Quality Inspection Supervisor leads a team of quality personnel across all four shifts in the Tucson Molding plant, ensuring product integrity and alignment with Rain Bird standards. This role is responsible for monitoring and improving key quality indicators, driving continuous improvement of inspection processes, and advancing the adoption technologies and standard work to unlock efficiency and repeatability. The supervisor will maintain strong communication with plant leadership, internal customers, and product engineers, while owning rapid response to issues, engaging stakeholders, and implementing corrective and preventive actions that protect part quality and support operational success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
• 3 years’ experience working in a diverse manufacturing environment
• Experience reading and interpreting drawings
• Experience leading, coaching, or developing a team
• Highly skilled in PC applications experience (Excel, and other MS applications)
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challenges
• Demonstrates leadership and negotiation skills
• Ability to work well with others in a group
• Must have authorization to work in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead Continuous Improvement and Quality activities within the molding manufacturing department by implementing and monitoring measures related to safety, quality, efficiency, cost control, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with operations and safety management teams to develop measurable KPIs through benchmarking, and drive strategic initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
• Work with internal business units to better understand customer claims and to better identify the root cause of errors reported by Rain Bird’s customers. Implement improvement measures to mitigate manufacturing errors through improved processes which can be shared across all Rain Bird plants.
• Design and implement a comprehensive training program, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, to build a sustainable workforce capable of delivering consistent, high-quality results.
• Monitor operational performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), establish standard expectations across all shifts, and identify improvement opportunities through targeted training and visual management tools.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through capital investments and developed ROI analyses to justify and support funding decisions.
• Lead safety initiatives within the molding plant to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
• Support Rain Bird supply chain initiatives and provide expertise as opportunities arise.
