Job Summary: We are currently looking for a Quality Inspection (ITE) Supervisor for our new factory in Columbus, Ohio. This position will be responsible for overseeing the inspection and quality disposition process for products within a solar manufacturing facility, ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This person supervises the daily activities of a team of quality operators and quality reviewers and ensures that the teams follow documented inspection test procedures for electroluminescence, visual inspection and quality review to enforce best practices. This position will also ensure that daily goals and targets are effectively communicated to team members and help them deliver results in the most effective way.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering or technical course with at least 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science with at least 3-5 years of experience, preferably from one or some of the following industries: solar, electronics, semiconductor, automotive or medical equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a quality team leader or supervisor and with a good understanding of quality control protocols, inspection methods and relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing operations, quality, safety and work-floor 6S standard required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordination ability, interpersonal communication ability, planning and execution ability.
  • Adept in root cause and technical analysis to identify product defects and drive escalation of issues to quality managers and other cross-functional groups such as Production, Equipment and Process Engineering.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably with previous experience in electroluminescence testing and/or automated optical inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities of quality operators and reviewers to ensure that quality standards are achieved; other tasks that may be assigned by the Quality Manager due to criticality.
  • Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and quality inspection and review sequences to maximize productivity.
  • Monitor, report and document quality inspection activities and key performance indicators at various stages of manufacturing to identify potential product and process defects and non-conformities.
  • Identify problems associated with electroluminescence, visual inspection and quality disposition activities for solar panels and laminates, troubleshoot root causes, and develop solutions.
  • Suggest improvement plans to improve efficiency and safety; ensure all safety policies and processes are followed.
  • Monitor and coordinate proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and train quality operators and reviewers in inspection protocols/techniques and equipment operation.
