About The Position

This role is pivotal in supporting our US Warfighters and the AbilityOne program contributing to ReadyOne Industries' mission. The Quality Incoming Inspector is responsible for inspecting, auditing, and verifying all incoming materials received at the facility from external suppliers prior to release to production. This includes inspection of fabrics, components, trims, labels, accessories, and any other materials requiring incoming inspection. The position ensures that incoming materials comply with contractual requirements, military standards, and internal quality specifications. This position drives initiatives that uphold our commitment to excellence and strategic objectives by supporting discrepancy resolution, quality data reporting, and continuous improvement efforts related to incoming materials.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: Six (6) months related experience as an inspector or auditor.
  • Specific Skills: Fluency in reading, writing, and understanding English. Ability to measure and properly fill out required forms and documentation.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Knowledge of AQLs, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 tables, contract requirements, military standards, and the four-point count system.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to use Epicor software and basic computer applications. Ability to operate inspection equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift operation experience preferred but not required.
  • Crane operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and audit all incoming materials from external suppliers.
  • Inspect all fabric and components (raw materials) using knowledge of AQLs and the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 table.
  • Understand and follow contract requirements and military standards.
  • Use measurement tools accurately and understand tolerances.
  • Apply the four-point count system to fabric inspections.
  • Operate and maintain inspection machines in a warehouse setting.
  • Detect, mark, and document defects in materials.
  • Identify different types of fabric and material defects.
  • Audit packing slips, test letters, Certificates of Conformance (COC), and other paperwork received with raw materials.
  • Create and complete Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and follow up with the Supply Chain department on the status of DMRs.
  • Provide appropriate disposition to materials once DMRs are resolved with suppliers.
  • Fill out reports accurately and use the Epicor software for transactions.
  • Pass or reject components based on AQLs or fabric using the four-point count system.
  • Create presentations with photos of defects found in fabrics using the computer.
  • Communicate effectively with the Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager, Quality Director, Engineering, Cutting and the Supply Chain Department.
  • Operate a crane to load fabric rolls into the inspection machine.
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation, records, and evidence related to incoming inspection activities as required.
  • Perform cycle counts of incoming materials as assigned to support inventory accuracy and material control.
