About The Position

The Quality Improvement (QI) Intern is responsible for supporting the QI Manager with the implementation and management of quality improvement initiatives within NEW Health. This role involves collecting quality metrics data, assisting in quality improvement projects, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Employees must be 18 years of age or older at the start date due to clinical access and regulatory requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and audit clinical and quality data to support incentivized and non incentivized quality measures.
  • Conduct chart audits to validate documentation accuracy, measure eligibility, and gap closure.
  • Maintain and update quality registries and reports, including cancer screenings, diabetes measures, and preventive care metrics, using predefined established templates.
  • Prepare standard summaries and reports using established templates supporting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with internal and external quality audits by gathering documentation and supporting compliance efforts.
  • Support patient outreach initiatives, including reminder calls for wellness visits and chronic disease follow ups.
  • Request missing documentation using standardized scripts.
  • Perform additional quality improvement tasks and projects as assigned to support organizational quality goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travel may be required.
