Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical chart review and/or patient record data abstraction experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and disease processes required.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to clinicians, patients and other internal/external customers required.
  • Ability to critically evaluate clinical variables and their alignment with various quality definitions required.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry required.
  • Ability to interpret, summarize, and visualize data required.
  • Ability to create presentations and reports based on data findings and recommendations required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to create pivot tables and utilize vlookup and other functions, required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Clinical background preferred.
  • Completion of a medical certification program preferred.
  • Experience with quality benchmarking tools or registries (ex: Vizient, NSQIP, GWTG/Get With The Guidelines) preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMS and TJC pay-for-reporting and pay-for-performance quality programs (ex. Inpatient Quality Reporting Program, Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Program, Oryx) preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records, EPIC preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license or appropriate allied health license in the state of Nebraska only as required in accordance with appropriate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Support health system accreditation and regulatory reporting requirements through chart reviews, measure reporting, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with members of quality and operational departments to identify opportunities for further analysis and improvement.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness while meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Summarize data and create reports and presentations to communicate data findings.
  • Maintain an understanding of requirements for quality reporting programs, registries, and other quality benchmarking tools.
