About The Position

As a Quality & Food Safety Technician Associate you will perform checks throughout our Central Production Unit including the productive, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing facilities of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, label checks and new weight checks.

Requirements

  • Degree preferred or work experience in quality or food safety auditing
  • Seafood HACCP Certified and/or ability to gain certification within 60 days after hiring
  • Experience with USDA FSIS food production
  • Food Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety
  • Writing and Implementing food safety and quality programs
  • Excellent communication, presentation and team building skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask to simultaneously complete several projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office-Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Flexible to work on other duties outside of your main responsibilities when needed and as assigned
  • Must be able to work in a chilled environment that is maintained below 40° when required
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, wipe, reach, bend and lift.
  • Subject to lifting up to 50lbs
  • Exposure to some potential food allergens such as shrimp, soy, nuts/nut products, and sesame.

Responsibilities

  • Cover for HACCP Coordinator and/or Director Quality Assurance/Supervisor in case of absence
  • Oversee and Implement Food Safety and Quality Program
  • Audit during production for food safety and quality
  • Training and coach personnel of Food Safety and Quality
  • Ensure all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations are followed
  • Assist during startups and product development
  • Review Documents for HACCP and Productions for completeness
  • Conduct daily walks to ensure compliance
