About The Position

Quality Food Safety Coordinator - Fostoria, OH This is an exempt level position. Job Summary: The QFS (Quality and Food Safety) Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily activities of the site's food safety program. This position reports to the Area Facility/Complex Manager and has a dotted-line to the OBU Quality Group. Essential Job Functions: Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met. Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs. Enforce Quality goals and KPIs, Food Safety/Quality, maintain Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement. Ensure the processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain 3rd party certifications (i.e., GMP+, SQF, etc.) and FDA compliance (21CFR 507 and/or 21CFR 117). Oversee usage of and provide support for information technology systems (i.e., Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI, etc.). Tracks and reports the Cost of Poor Quality to drive continuous improvement in the plant. Excellent communication, problem solving, and good decision making skills are required. Escalates and communicates quality and food safety issues, as required, to Plant Management, Regional QFS, BU NA QFS Director and the Technology Center. Develops and delivers engaging and effective training, measures effectiveness of training and makes updates for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Preferred 4 year degree or equivalent 7 year Food Safety experience in a Food manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, and regulatory officials as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Lifting or carrying of weights over fifty (50) pounds is rare; employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than fifty (50) pounds.
