About The Position

The Quality Field & Lab Technician is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by coordinating, documenting, and reporting quality activities for the Project.

Requirements

• At a minimum, the Quality Field & Lab Technician must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study along with 3+ years of related quality inspection experience or high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 7+ years of related quality inspection experience.
• The Quality Field & Lab Technician must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade I, ACI Strength Testing Technician, LADOT or NICET Materials Testing certifications (Level I/II), or Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation, can be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Experience working with Design-Build projects and/or the construction industry along with knowledge and experience with implementing quality management and quality control digital tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation of Project Quality Management System documents.
• Ensure quality documentation and required records for the Project are accurate and up to date.
• Assist in field verification activities for materials and works performed using the company’s tracking software.
• Assist in ensuring that quality requirements are implemented by subcontractors.
• Compile comprehensive reports detailing quality performance, highlighting trends, and suggesting corrective actions and lessons learn.
• Collaborate in the digitalization of quality records.
• Oversee and perform site inspections and enforcement of standards
• Participating in the analysis of corrective and preventive actions and, in general, identifying and recording any incidents related to the Quality Plans and Quality Procedures.
• Reporting quality issues associated with the construction and track deficiencies/non‐conformances.
• Quality Control for asphalt and concrete plant ensures the high-quality production of materials by performing laboratory testing, quality control. This role is crucial for ensuring that products meet strict LA DOTD, federal, state, and customer specifications.
• Quality Control (QC) Testing: Sample and test raw materials (aggregates) and finished products (hot mix asphalt, ready-mix concrete) to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Lab Analysis: Perform tests such as gradation, asphalt cement content, moisture content, Specific Gravity, and volumetric properties (gyratory compaction).
• Perform soil classification tests, including Atterberg limits, grain-size distribution, Proctor curves (Standard/Modified), and moisture content.
• Ensure all testing follows ASTM, AASHTO, LADOTD, or project-specific standards.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
