About The Position

Accoya USA continues growing, currently seeking a Lab TechnicianQC. Quality/Lab Technician - Testing, Inspections & eQMS Support Perform quality operations through laboratory testing, incoming and shop-floor inspections, data collection and reporting, nonconformance (NC) investigation support, and field studies. Develop capability in the Quality Management System (QMS) and support implementation and maintenance of the electronic QMS (eQMS). The Lab Technician will perform analytical test on incoming wood. Checking bundles of a batch for damage and other defects and collecting data including size and frequency of possible damage are processed in the database. Testing and Laboratory Support Prepare and assemble samples for analysis using methods such as NIR, GC, KF, HPLC, and titrations. Perform or support testing and inspection activities related to wood and product quality (e.g., internal color, density, acetyl content, residual acetic acid) in accordance with approved methods. Maintain complete, traceable, audit-ready records of tests, results, and samples. Incoming and Shop-Floor Inspections Inspect incoming wood/boards for damage, defects, and specification compliance; record results accurately. Conduct shop-floor inspections of physical materials and processes to verify adherence to procedures, internal agreements, and safety requirements. Provide on-the-spot guidance to operators and team members to reinforce requirements and prevent repeat issues. Escalate major damage or discrepancies in size/quantity to the QA/QC Manager and Purchasing. Data Collection, Trending and Communication Gather, organize, trend, and file quality data from inspections, testing, and field studies. Communicate results clearly to stakeholders; escalate findings when needed to ensure timely action and visibility. Nonconformance and Abnormality Support Identify and help evaluate abnormal batches (visual, chemical, dimensional, or process-related). Support NC investigations and containment activities; assist with documenting outcomes and follow-up actions. Notify the QA/QC Manager promptly of deviations and out-of-spec conditions. Field Studies Support field studies by collecting observations and performance data, documenting conditions, and assisting with analysis and reporting. Lab Readiness and Safety Monitor and maintain inventory of required chemicals and consumables. Support maintenance and basic upkeep of lab equipment; report equipment issues promptly. Maintain strict awareness of health and safety practices during all lab and shop-floor activities. QMS / eQMS Development and Support Learn and support QMS processes including document control, training records, NC/CAPA workflows, and eQMS implementation and maintenance, under guidance of the QA/QC Manager. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment.
  • Experience in QA/QC (inspections, testing, data recording).
  • Experience participating in or supporting audits.
  • Working knowledge of QMS principles (procedures, records, compliance expectations).
