As our Part Time Quality Engineering Technician on-site in the Troy, MI office, you will be able to support your colleagues and the customer through your daily diagnostic activities and regular visits to our customer facilities to collect warranty parts.

Requirements

  • Must have physical dexterity, occasional daily lifting and manipulation (bending, twisting) of average to heavy weight of up to 50 lbs. (IPE), standing and stooping for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move the warranty returned parts (IPE’s) in the lab area by pulling or pushing a trolley or carrying by hand, this includes loading and unloading from the truck, moving to the proper storage area, and removing and returning the parts into inventory.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle to the off-site warehouse and customer sites.
  • Ability to sit in the lab area using the lab benches and tables to perform work.
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in a quality lab, analysis lab, or engineering lab.
  • Skill in attention to detail, thoroughness, and dealing with complexity

Responsibilities

  • Prepares warranty parts for proper storage.
  • Load parts onto a pallet for move to the off-site storage area.
  • Transfer parts to the warehouse 30 minutes away, approximately one to two times per month, by company vehicle. Each warranty sample's weight is around 50 lbs.
  • Collects warranty return parts from customer site 30 minutes away and bring back to our lab once a twice a week by company vehicle. Each warranty sample's weight is around 50 lbs.
  • Enters incoming and outgoing warranty parts into the tracker promptly and correctly.
  • Complete diagnostic activities of the warranty parts
  • Makes a visual inspection
  • Pulls fault history from the samples using diagnostic tools
  • Perform Initial analysis with Digital Multimeter (DMM) and make initial reports for review by the Senior Engineer.
  • Load / Unload parts to and from the testing chamber promptly as required
