About The Position

Our Quality Engineer Intern will support the Quality and Operations teams by assisting with process documentation, verification, and analysis activities within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to quality engineering tools and practices, with a focus on understanding how documented processes align with actual manufacturing execution. The Quality Engineer Intern will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality personnel to help ensure processes are clearly defined, followed, and capable of meeting product and customer requirements. Our internships will run full time, June-August 2026 onsite our Poynette location.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to compare documented requirements to actual process execution.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Reliable transportation to our manufacturing facility in Poynette, WI.
  • Authorization to work in the United States required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update process maps to accurately document current-state manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with process audits, comparing: Work Instructions (WI) Actual shop floor practices Engineering drawings (DWGs) Bills of Materials (BOMs) Helping to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support process capability studies by collecting data, organizing results, and assisting with analysis (e.g., Cp, Cpk).
  • Participate in PFMEA reviews, helping verify alignment between documented risk assessments and actual process conditions.
  • Review and help maintain quality documentation such as procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis related to quality performance, defects, and process variation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Observe manufacturing operations to better understand process flow, controls, and quality risks.
  • Help identify process or documentation gaps that could contribute to defects, variation, or inefficiency.
