About The Position

Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineering Intern to support manufacturing quality, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This paid internship provides hands-on experience in quality systems, root cause analysis, audits, and customer/supplier quality within a manufacturing environment.

You’ll work closely with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Customer teams to help improve product quality, reduce scrap, and strengthen quality management processes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality concepts
• Comfortable working with data and solving problems logically
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Team-oriented with a positive, learning-focused attitude

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in Quality, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or ISO 14001
• Experience with technical documentation or data analysis
• Interest in manufacturing, automotive, or plastics/composites environments

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and report quality data, trends, and issues
• Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
• Assist with IATF 16949 quality system compliance activities
• Help document and track customer complaints and responses
• Participate in scrap reduction and continuous improvement projects
• Support MRB activities and documentation
• Assist with APQP and PPAP documentation
• Help update PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and procedures
• Support calibration records, basic metrology, and gage databases
• Assist with document control and QMS documentation updates
• Support internal audit preparation and follow-up activities
• Help track supplier quality issues and non-conformances
• Assist with chargeback analysis and customer concern reporting
