About The Position

The Quality Engineer ensures our internal processes, products, and systems consistently meet aerospace industry standards. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with regulations, driving continuous improvement, and supporting internal teams in achieving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of quality assurance in the aerospace sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency with aerospace standards and regulations, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA).
  • Familiarity with inspection methods, GD&T, and metrology equipment.
  • Proficient in quality-related software tools and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Maintain and improve the company’s QMS in compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards. Conduct internal audits and support external audits, ensuring all departments adhere to established processes. Provide guidance to internal teams on quality procedures and requirements.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action: Investigate internal quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Monitor and document the effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Process & Product Validation: Define quality control plans for internal processes, ensuring consistency and reliability. Oversee first article inspection (FAI) and in-process checks to validate production standards. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and address potential quality risks.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report key quality metrics, such as defect rates and process capability indices. Present findings and improvement recommendations to management for strategic decision-making. Use statistical tools to identify trends and propose targeted improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance internal processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Champion lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive efficiency. Provide training and support to employees to instill a quality-focused mindset.
