About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc.’s products and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports root cause analysis, implements corrective and preventive actions, and collaborates cross-functionally to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction. The Quality Engineer serves as a technical resource for quality systems, process control, supplier quality, and field performance analysis.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field. In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering
  • Must be knowledgeable of standard inspection and measurement equipment, i.e. micrometers, calipers, multimeters, etc.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, assembly schematics,design models, and specifications and prepare hand-written or computer-generated inspection reports
  • Ability to work i ndividually and on teams
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Work in a fast pace repetitive environment-climbing, walking, twisting, etc.
  • Willing to adhere to all safety guidelines and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with SAP S/4Hana
  • RVTI Certification
  • Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, validation, and analysis of Defects Per Unit (DPU) data across Class A, B, and C production areas, while driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defect rates to 5% or lower.
  • Compile extensive warranty reports, based on Class A/B/C top 10 warranty expenses and occurrences, to present to the Director of Quality with areas for improvement.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify variation, recurring defects, and emerging quality risks.
  • Clearly communicate top defect drivers, root cause status, corrective action progress, and overall quality performance trends.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, inspection processes and characteristics.
  • Support internal and external critical to quality inspection characteristic audits, including corrective action follow-up.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and drive quality improvements, as well as conducting supplier audits with corrective actions.
