Fiber Materials Inc. (FMI) is a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for over 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. Their manufacturing facility in Maine focuses on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) used in high-temperature components such as thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips, and rocket motor throats and nozzles. These materials are utilized in groundbreaking space initiatives like the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and NASA's Mars 2020 mission heat shield, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles. FMI is seeking a Quality Engineer to support all aspects of the organization, with responsibility for assigned programs and close alignment to operations & supply chain. This individual will work closely with production and engineering management to develop, maintain, and implement quality standards to ensure they meet applicable customer & internal requirements. The position also involves partnering with stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle to support investigations and drive implementation of risk mitigation activities aimed at improving the quality of products & processes.
