About The Position

Cardinal IG’s Technology Center is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Quality Engineer to join our Insulating Glass Technical Service Team. This team serves as the key technical liaison between Cardinal IG’s production facilities, customers, and industry partners. In this role, you will lead quality-related initiatives, support internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that directly influence product performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, statistics, or another relevant field.
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of quality methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, ISO) and statistics (MSA, PPAP, capability analysis, SPC)
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and an orderly and safe workplace.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, within Cardinal and externally with our customers, suppliers, and industry organizations.
  • Time management skills with the ability to plan and track multiple projects over months.
  • Ability to communicate complicated concepts in writing and in person.
  • Ability to travel to Cardinal and customer facilities, installation / testing sites, and industry meetings / events (approx. 10-25%)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in glass, windows, doors, or associated industries a plus.
  • Power BI or similar tool experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Cardinal’s internal quality audit program.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for quality control topics.
  • Work closely with plant quality managers on best practices.
  • Validate plant capabilities against customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance quality data systems.
  • Act as a primary quality liaison for national accounts.
  • Support customers, architects, and homeowners with technical questions.
  • Engage with external organizations (ASTM, NGA, SGCC).
  • Lead cross-functional quality projects.
  • Support R&D and pilot production as needed.
