About The Position

Overall Expectation: Provide hands-on manufacturing quality support with an emphasis on continuous improvement, customer problem solving (8D), and supplier corrective actions. This role requires an experienced, energetic problem solver who can apply a diverse range of tools and lead cross-functional teams to deliver sustained quality results in a production environment. Highlighted Expectations: Drive continuous improvement using a “Trend, Pareto, Attack” approach: analyze quality data, identify the biggest opportunities, and lead collaborative actions that measurably improve key metrics (scrap, PPM, customer incidents). Lead internal and external 8D problem solving for customer concerns, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness. Partner daily with production teams to resolve quality issues quickly, strengthen processes, and prevent recurrence through robust corrective actions. Support supplier corrective actions in collaboration with the Supplier Sourcing & Development team to improve incoming quality and reduce supplier-related disruptions. Maintain and improve quality systems by participating in internal audits and supporting IATF audits and system maintenance. Maintain and update APQP-related living documents (Control Plans, PFMEAs, etc.) as products and processes change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T: able to read prints, understand callouts, and compare requirements to physical parts.
  • Understanding of IATF 16949 or equivalent Quality Management System experience.
  • Working knowledge of APQP documentation and how to maintain living documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effective cross-functional problem solving (8D required; experience with tools such as 5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone, A3, etc. is a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to energize a team and drive improvements together.
  • Ability to work primarily on 1st shift with occasional off-shift support for quality emergencies.
  • Rare travel to suppliers or customers as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience in automotive, electronics, and/or appliance manufacturing.
  • Launch quality / new product launch experience.
  • ASQ certification (e.g., CQE) or related quality training/certifications.
