About The Position

The Quality Engineer will support and work collaboratively with internal personnel to audit, monitor, validate and improve manufacturing and business processes and performance. This role will also work with supplier non-conformance and assist with field and warranty root cause analysis and countermeasures, inspect raw/in-process materials and finished goods prior to shipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology or another equivalent program.
  • Experience in quality or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge in GD&T
  • Solid analytical problem-solver with knowledge of tools (5why, 8D, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (including SharePoint)
  • Able to work collaboratively to resolve issues and continually improve results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change with proven interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • Communicates plans and updates effectively with all levels of management and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections on products and processes
  • Review data and create reports to make recommendations of product and process improvement, reduce non-conformities and warranty claims.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to define and develop inspection and data capture methods to verify product requirements to relevant specifications.
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem solving for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with the Purchasing group for supplier non-conformance to document and verify corrective actions.
  • Assist with implementation, audit and improvement of the Business Management System (BMS) process, procedures and documents throughout the business and the final product.
  • Administer the data collection of internal and supplier non-conformities and review field data for recommendations to eliminate systemic and repeat items affecting Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Collaborate with Fitter/Welders to identify drawing / process changes affecting product quality.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating products and production equipment.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, audit, and improvement of the Business Management System (BMS) for compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Serve as a quality technical advisor for each Manufacturing Bay and Field Service personnel.
  • Engage with product teams directly to review systemic quality issues, assist with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
