About The Position

Join our dynamic team at Life Fitness / Hammer Strength as a Quality Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standard of product and process excellence. You'll drive continuous improvement, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the creation of industry-leading fitness equipment. As a Quality Engineer, you'll work with the Quality Manager to develop, implement, and coordinate product and process quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new and existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in a related field
  • 2-5 years job related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Strong computer skills with ability to program (Word, Excel, Power point, Microsoft 365 applications)
  • Ability to build and improve processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (GD&T), diagrams, and specifications
  • Experience with general measurement tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process, product, and customer complaint related concerns.
  • Assist Quality Manager in maintaining the quality management system.
  • Interface with Engineering, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Operations to ensure transfer to production of new products that are in accordance with the approved requirements. (PPAP’s, Control Plans, Cpk studies, etc.)
  • Create and maintain quality documentation such as quality procedures, work instructions, control plans, reports.
  • Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement of Quality metrics.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness.
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate as a part of the Material Review Board (MRB) to develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
