About The Position

GSW Manufacturing, Inc., an international manufacturer and technology developer serving the wiring harness industry, seeks a highly skilled Quality Engineer who can work seamlessly across global teams, manufacturing sites, and cross-functional departments to implement data-driven solutions, reduce defects, and enhance product quality. You will join a talented and collaborative team at our Findlay, Ohio, headquarters. Reporting to the Operations Senior Manager, the Quality Engineer ensures that all products and processes meet or exceed customer and regulatory quality standards while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or manufacturing quality in a manufacturing environment.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) for Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in quality management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of IAFT 16949 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Global Communication: Maintain seamless communication between global sites (Japan, Ohio, Mexico) to uphold consistent quality standards and drive initiatives from headquarters.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams across locations to integrate quality objectives into product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Customer Quality Management: Handle customer claims, complaints, and investigations, perform root cause analysis using Six Sigma methodologies and implement corrective and preventative actions for timely resolutions.
  • Defect Control: Manage the Material Review Board (MRB), oversee Initial Part Production (IPP) and implement red tagging for suspect materials to prevent nonconforming products from reaching customers.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to establish quality requirements, conduct supplier Quality Assurance Validation (QAV), track PPAP submissions, oversee Process Change Requests (PCRs), and complete ISIR paperwork to verify supplier compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements. Assist in maintaining IATF 16949 certification.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
