About The Position

PURPOSE: The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality control systems and protocols for the organization. Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure world-class quality standards are developed, maintained, and adhered to. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manage and coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including: Act as a primary liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to collect, verify, and assemble required technical and inspection data for: Review customer purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and flow-down requirements to identify applicable quality and inspection requirements. Support the development, update, and maintenance of inspection control plans, using: Ensure special quality requirements are properly reflected in: Coordinate inspection and testing requirements with: Support engineering change management, ensuring revisions are reviewed, documented, and implemented to maintain conformance to customer and regulatory requirements. Participate in internal audits, job audits, and investigation of quality issues; track and support corrective action implementation. Assist in identifying and monitoring high-risk process areas, using data from MRBs, FAIs, and shop-floor feedback. Support customer interactions related to quality issues, including technical data review and response preparation, as required. Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by management. SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Analytical skills, critical thinking, and communication skills are critical to this position. Thorough understanding of GD&T principles. Lifting of heavy castings up to 33 lbs. and working in a heavy manufacturing environment. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Product Quality Manager EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Preferred a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing Technology discipline; consider education and experience. 6 years of quality engineering related experience. Knowledge of investment casting technology, processes and manufacturing methods are preferable.
