About The Position

The Quality Engineer provides quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, co-workers and departments of the organization. This position also executes the Quality Assurance strategy of the organization to ensure continual production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. The Quality Engineer will focus on creating and maintaining quality system policies, procedures, quality control process sampling systems, and statistical techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of prior experience preferred
  • Prior working experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 manufacturing environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, AS13100; applicable MIL standards as they relate to Aerospace and Defense, and are capable or interpreting those standards as they apply to our business
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, 8Ds
  • Experience with APQP and can demonstrate competency on risk analysis, control plans, process stability, and measurement system analysis
  • A demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic planning and project management
  • Experience with material non-conformances, root cause and corrective action
  • Ability to read / understand part prints,and apply GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various quality functions to ensure compliance and performance excellence with customer, supplier, and system requirements
  • Gather and maintain data, measure processes, perform analysis, and create action plans for continuous improvement or corrective action.
  • Develops, maintain, and deploys quality plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities
  • Provide Quality interface and expertise between the organization, customers, and suppliers to proactively assure their needs and expectations are understood and satisfied. This includes the complaint management process and the implementation of the corresponding corrective / preventive actions
  • Perform contract reviews to identify customer quality requirements and prepare quality plans to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Develop, implement and audit of inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions.
  • Investigate and eliminate causes of quality problems and follow up on corrective actions
  • Provide technical support for both manufacturing and inspection personnel
  • Perform corrective action and root cause analysis and ensure compliance of certifications
  • Resolve non-conforming material issues and performs product, process, and system audits and verifies effectiveness or corrective actions that were taken
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
