About The Position

This position requires a minimum five year background in quality and manufacturing business operations, general knowledge and understanding of specifications, metal part manufacturing, and the ability to read blueprints. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management; shop supervision, quality personnel and vendors. Must be a certified Auditor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related field required).
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related role.
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in quality and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, shop supervision, quality personnel and vendors.
  • Knowledge of all functions of inspection.
  • Ability to manage a heavy paperwork load.
  • Must be a certified Auditor.
  • Knowledge of blueprints.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerances.
  • Knowledge of welding requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipping document data packs.
  • Approve new part shop planning for quality requirements.
  • Review completed shop travelers to ensure all operations were performed and quality requirements were fulfilled.
  • Perform internal quality and vendor approval audits as required.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Assist Quality Management with customer or third party audits.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other relevant quality standards.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and drive process improvements.
  • Assist in supplier quality management, including audits and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and quality records.
  • Input new part first article inspection reports.
  • Review completed first article inspection reports.
  • Write quality procedures/instructions as required.
  • Assist with any testing or qualification procedures to meet specification requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.
