Job Summary Responsible to plan, direct, supervise and implement project quality control activities in compliance with project specification manuals and applicable company standards/programs in concert with test lab, architectural, code and owner authorities including all project disciplines. This classification reports to Project Manager and Superintendent jointly. No other positions report to Field Quality Control Officer. The Quality Engineer is responsible for project specific inspections and managing the Internal and External documentation. This position is part of the onsite management team. Requirements

  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy.
  • Skill in assessment of proposed work, selection of forms and administrative tools to perform Q.C. essential functions.
  • Ability to read and organize plans, specifications, product data sheets and technical data.
  • Knowledge in the use of personal computer and software.
  • Knowledge of special and technical process/test techniques.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Two year or four-year construction science or engineering degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of Q.C. experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and monitor the on site personnel, including subcontractors and all project disciplines using industry quality standards guidelines.
  • Monitor quality control compliance using prepared quality control procedures and work documents meeting project authorities and company requirements.
  • Design and provide compliance documentation using contract and company required outgoing report copies to all parties and insure contract correctness.
  • Resolve or prevent non-conformance areas by participating in job meetings. Schedule special meetings if required and follow up to insure errors are avoided or corrections implemented.
  • Perform internal/external audits to insure contract and company quality control requirements are implemented and maintained.
  • Perform inspections of work in various disciplines as required by contract and company standards.
  • Assist in resolution of company non-conformance reported by contract authorities using company policy.
  • Coordinate quality control mission with job site departments, disciplines and contractors.
