About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA. This is an on-site position based in Huntington Beach, CA. JOB SUMMARY The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring the performance of customer and internal KPI. This role champions improvements using analysis and implements corrections and improvements using quality tools such as Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc. They will develop inspection plans to assist the inspection department. The Quality Engineer will interface with program customers and program management. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.) Work with the quality control and production personnel to drive the continuous improvement process. Monitor and analyze customer satisfaction KPIs. Monitor and analyze internal data such as nonconformance and corrective actions. Interface with the customer on program quality issues. Improve and problem solve using quality tools such as Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc. Create quality improvement plans. Create inspection plans. Review and approve engineering documents. Review and approve purchasing and planning documents. Assist with audits. Participate in MRB and CCB Submit nonconformance documents to customers. Assist with audits to company guidelines. Identify and understand customer requirements. Assist with supplier problems, provides problem solving and resolutions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Programming, Computer Science or related field is required
  • Experience: Level I: 3-5 years of engineering experience Level Il: 6-9 years of engineering experience Level IIl:10+ years of experience with at least 1 year leading or mentoring the work of assigned employees.
  • Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, Office, and with MRP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other related literature is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong trouble shooting skills and communication skills.
  • Advanced Spreadsheet building and Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Proficient with general quality systems and with the following tools: Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones.
  • ASQ Quality Engineer Certificate desired
