More information at: www.beyondgravity.com Your Mission This position will act as a main internal project interface in respect to process and product quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Engineering, Quality, Computer Science or Business Technical Bachelor-Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience OR5+ years’ experience in an advanced manufacturing environment (Automotive / Aerospace for example).
  • Experience using programmable contact and non-contact metrology equipment (Laser Radars, Laser trackers, CMM, ATOS scan boxes, Romer’s arms..) or similar.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of Dimensional analysis packages such as PiWeb, Polyworks.or similar.
  • High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations.
  • Experience with CATIA or similar CAD software or similar for design.
  • Manufacturing/assembly experience with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Automotive Stamping, Body in White assemblies/subassemblies, Drivetrain castings/gears, Battery modules
  • Results driven with a Quality Mindset.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to lift 10+ lbs and occasionally lift 25 lbs
  • GD&T knowledge per ANSI Y14.5 and Y14.41
  • Experience with using MES / ERP systems for manufacturing controls and reporting.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc... required
  • Must be able to travel both international and domestic as required (Expected 10% or less)

Responsibilities

  • Collect 3D scan data and Create as-built models from scan data
  • Perform dimensional analysis on scan data
  • Prepare and present results to customer
  • Provide technical leadership on metrology projects
  • Create and maintain automated, production-ready programs for dimensionally inspecting parts and assemblies using a Leica absolute tracker and hexagon roamer arm CMM with verisurf 2024 and Polyworks software.
  • Dimensionally inspect parts using a variety of potential metrology equipment including vision systems, CMM and 3D laser and blue light scanners.
  • Support the development of methods to analyze product and process quality.
  • Analyze data to define trends, capability, and functional improvements.
  • Work together with relevant teams and departments to understand the needs regarding problem-solving.
  • Formulate a strategic plan to develop systems and metrics that increase productivity in the business.
  • Develop novel methods to accurately and precisely measure components and assemblies.
  • Accurately read and interpret drawings and CATIA CAD models.
  • Lead standardization and optimization of production measurement methods and techniques
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of operational documentation.
  • Improve product/process quality by defining/implementing recommendations for improvements of the current state.
  • Perform other functions as required.
