About The Position

As part of the talented Quality team, you will be responsible for support and facilitation of the quality system in the machining process to assure ongoing improvements in quality performance and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the plant departments to ensure continuity in company quality objectives, eliminating process waste and reducing variation. The Quality Engineer will work with employee teams and managers while exhibiting a professional and cooperative attitude. Experience with machining processes for aluminum materials is a plus. This role supports First Shift while working 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in complex machining/manufacturing environments.
  • Skilled in RCCA, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, GRR, ISO 9001:2015, and formal problem-solving.
  • Proficient in GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in metrology and measurement techniques.
  • Highly organized; able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on approach to shop floor problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Proficient with building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and works independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical software.
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • Leads by example with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Capable of leading and mentoring others.
  • Willing to work extended hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Associate with ASQ, desired Lean Six Sigma certification, strongly preferred
  • Related work experience in a marine, automotive, or engine manufacturing plant is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality support in engine component manufacturing to meet plant objectives.
  • Lead root cause analysis, process improvements, and product rework using formal quality tools.
  • Provide an immediate communication bridge to production as a top priority.
  • Support PPAP, capability studies, and MSA for assigned components.
  • Investigate internal complaints and improve control methods for timely resolution.
  • Analyze data trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct internal audits to verify process, product, and ISO compliance.
  • Manage and review quality documentation (SIR, deviations, FMEAs, Control Plans, NCRs, etc.).
  • Coordinate quality spills, including containment, sorting, visual aids & quality alerts.
  • Uphold health and safety standards across all work environments.
  • Collaborate with suppliers & sister plants.
