About The Position

The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining product and process integrity within an EMS facility that serves government-contracted aerospace, military, and defense customers. This role ensures that all SMT-assembled circuit boards meet stringent regulatory and customer standards, with a focus on compliance, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The Quality Engineer supports both product quality and the Quality Management System (QMS) across the production lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related field.
  • 2+ years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience in an EMS environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to ITAR compliance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ITAR).
  • Proficiency with Lean Six Sigma tools and quality/reliability engineering statistics.

  • Strong team player with the ability to drive problem-solving and risk management activities
  • Experience in supplier quality management and process validation.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Review manufacturing and inspection processes to maintain consistent SMT PCB assembly quality.
  • Interface with military/aerospace customers and government inspectors (e.g., DCMA) on quality issues and audits.
  • Ensure proper use of IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 standards and industry best practices.
  • Analyze non-conforming material, initiate MRB actions, and support supplier quality resolution.
  • Oversee quality documentation including inspection reports, FAI, PPAP, and traveler records.
  • Lead internal quality audits and support external audits (AS9100, ISO, customer audits).
  • Analyze manufacturing and process data, create action plans, and drive continuous improvement.
