About The Position

Bobrick is hiring a Quality Engineer I based out of our corporate headquarters in North Hollywood, CA. As a Quality Engineer I, you’ll play an important role in supporting day-to-day quality operations and continuous improvement across our manufacturing environments. You’ll help execute established quality processes, collect and analyze key data, and assist with solving real production and supplier challenges. You will grow your expertise in manufacturing processes, quality systems, and industry standards while working closely with teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Customer Service. In a highly collaborative environment, you’ll contribute to maintaining compliance, improving product quality, and supporting strategic quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (Electrical Engineering experience is a plus)
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (Internship, capstone project, part-time work, or relevant coursework will be considered)
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality principles
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, QMS, and data analysis platforms (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in AI-powered quality tools, data analytics, and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, SPSS)
  • Experience in manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, plastic laminates, phenolic materials, and related inspection techniques
  • Certifications in AI applications for manufacturing or quality engineering
  • Proficiency in applying probability, statistical inference, and sampling plans
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, technical drawings, and specification

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, audits, and testing per existing procedures
  • Collect, analyze, and document quality data (defects, nonconformances, scrap)
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions under supervision
  • Assist with supplier quality issues and incoming inspections
  • Support manufacturing in addressing immediate quality concerns
  • Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of quality processes, ensuring robust data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilize AI-powered tools for statistical process control (SPC), data visualization (Tableau, Power BI), and predictive analytics to enhance process reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize inspection plans and integrate advanced quality engineering techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ANSI, ASTM, ISO, UL) and stay abreast of emerging quality trends
  • Present data-driven insights and quality improvement reports to management, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Train employees and suppliers on quality systems, methodologies, and Smart Sigma best practices
  • Participate actively in cross-functional task forces and projects
  • Assist with preparing for change control board (CCB) and material review board (MRB) meetings
