About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer I to support manufacturing and product quality through inspection planning, quality system execution, and continuous improvement activities. This role partners with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure product and assembly processes meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for an early-career quality professional looking to build hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment while contributing to New Product Introduction (NPI), inspection execution, and data-driven quality improvements.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Foundational knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or ISO 13485.
  • Exposure to root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, datasheets, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within a manufacturing or regulated environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using or learning ERP systems is a plus.
  • Internship or co-op experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, execution, and maintenance of inspection plans, procedures, and sampling strategies for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including PPAP and IQ/OQ/PQ (ISO 13485), under the guidance of senior quality or engineering staff.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Manufacturing Process Flows, PFMEAs, and Quality Control Plans to support APQP/PPAP activities.
  • Support process control plans, including capability studies and Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gage R&R).
  • Develop and contribute to assembly and inspection work instructions, ensuring clarity and adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist with and/or perform First Article Inspections (FAI), prototype inspections, and production order inspection activities.
  • Support identification and implementation of critical quality controls for New Product Introductions (NPIs).
  • Participate in the ECO/ECN process, supporting documentation updates and implementation tracking.
  • Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities and monitoring of internal quality metrics and manufacturing process capability.
  • Support processing of customer returns (RMAs) and assist with product failure investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Gather, analyze, and report quality data and metrics, including customer complaints and RMA trends; support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce rework, scrap, and customer risk through preventive quality actions.
  • Support training and mentoring efforts for Quality Inspectors as needed.
  • Ensure housekeeping, health, and safety standards are maintained within quality and manufacturing areas.
