Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the JASSM/LRASM program in Troy, AL. This position provides quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for: Ensures quality is built into the product by developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining work instructions, evaluation and control and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, tests and evaluates the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment, conducts quality assurance tests. Performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with . May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Interfaces with Production, Program Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering personnel. Investigates and works non-conformance issues through to root cause/corrective action. Seeks continuous improvement through involvement in product, process, and surveillance audit / assessment activities, complete Hardware Quality Audits (HQAs) and Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) Walk Downs, Work Audit findings to root cause and implement corrective and preventive measures, etc. The Locale: Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small-town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University. Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters from an accredited college in a STEM related degree, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineer, Physics
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations.
  • Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing Quality Engineering support in a manufacturing environment
  • Two or more years of related experience or One or more years of quality experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma / Green Belt or higher certification.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Quality discipline internship or DoD Industry internship
